Every year since 2012, CHPC has been an Earth Care Congregation through the PC(USA). This continued certification shows the commitment our church has toward caring for God’s Earth!
The Earth Care Team at CHPC shows care for God’s Creation in many ways. We supported the Session in its decision to install an Electric Vehicle Charging Station in our parking lot that is available to the church and the community.
CHPC has a large garden. In coordination with Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville, one of our members leads a Garden Camp each summer for children in the church or community. The campers enjoy games, working in the garden, and making corn meal, salsa, and rhubarb pies.
We do many other things, such as helping to prepare and lead the worship service for Earth Day, helping with outdoor worship, and having outdoor activities after worship.
Peace and justice is God’s plan for all creation. The earth and all creation belong to God, who calls us to protect and restore this wonderful creation.
